Tina Turner wins photographic exhibition about her trajectory at SP museum
The exposure “Tina Turner: A Journey into the Future” is available at the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS) and will be present until the 9th of July. The show brings unpublished photographs of his career and follows his trajectory. Tina was a Swiss singer, dancer and actress. This is the first time that Brazil will receive an exhibition of images taken by Bob Gruen, Ebet Roberts, Ian Dickson and Lynn Goldsmith. About 120 photographs were produced that show the singer’s life on and off stage. Turner made her mark in the music industry, becoming a major artist. She has won 12 Grammys and has sold over 200 million records worldwide. In addition, she innovated the fashion universe with her unique way of dressing and acted in several films, such as the Oscar-nominated Mad Max.
André Sturm, director of MIS-SP, emphasized during a press conference that Tina is an icon that has transcended decades and that her relevance has impacted the world. “She is a black woman who, at the age of 40, reinvented herself in a feminine, sexy way, full of energy, sweat and happiness, and with very powerful music. extraordinary woman”he declared.
The co-director of the exhibition, Lia Vissotto, also commented on the artist’s exciting exhibition, recalling the strength and potency of her name. The singer leaves a legacy that will transcend generations. The exhibition is a chance for the new generation to learn a little about Tina’s history. “Tina Turner’s exhibition is like an opportunity for you to be in one of her concerts. Most of the images were taken on stage. And the stage is her space of creation, of freedom”commented one of the curators of the exhibition, Adriana Couto.
History:
The exhibition is organized into four parts that represent stages in the singer’s life.
- Your feminine power;
- Musical career;
- Film participation;
- Your style.
Not necessarily in that order. The curator informs that the photographs were not separated in chronological order, but in niches of Tina’s life. Entry to the museum costs around R$20 per person. However, on Tuesdays admission is free.
