With the merger, the nearly 200 professionals at Vicarious Visions will become Blizzard employees, meaning that Crash and Tony Hawk’s studio will no longer create games as the main developer.

“After collaborating with Vicarious Visions for some time and developing a great relationship, Blizzard realized there was an opportunity for [Vicarious Visions] to provide long-term support,” said an Activision Blizzard representative.

As a result of the move, Vicarious Visions head Jen Oneal was promoted to Executive Vice President of Development at Blizzard, reporting directly to company president J. Allen Brack.
