Trailer for controversial documentary 'Jagged' released

In July of this year, HBO launched the 'MusicBox' project, a six-episode documentary series that chronicles important moments in music. The project began with the release of 'Woodstock 99: Peace, Love And Rage'a 110-minute film that tells the story of the turbulent Woodstock festival held in 1999. In addition, this list of episodes includes 'Jagged', a controversial documentary about the life and career of Canadian singer Alanis Morissette, the trailer for which was released this Wednesday (10).

The trailer for the documentary has already shown excerpts from interviews with Alanis herself, as well as other personalities such as Taylor Hawkins, the drummer for the band Foo Fighters. The idea is for the documentary to be released on November 18, despite all the controversy surrounding it. The documentary has already received criticism from Alanis herself, who withdrew her support for the production after it was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

The singer has already released an official statement making it clear how the story told in the film is not 100% true and has elements that are simply not true. According to Alanis herself: “This is not the story I agreed to tell. I sit here now feeling the full impact of having trusted someone who was not worth trusting.”l”.

Regardless of whether or not the singer supports it, the fact is that the documentary will be released on the 18th, produced by award-winning documentary filmmaker Alison Klayman, and will take a journey through the history of Alanis Morissette, showing the strength of the songs composed and sung by the Canadian singer, as well as her trajectory in a market composed almost entirely of men. In addition, the film follows the work of the singer, in partnership with producer Glen Ballard, for the release of the album that gave the documentary its name, 'Jagged Little Pill', released in 1995 and responsible for the success that the Canadian singer has today in the world.

Covering themes such as sexual violence suffered by the singer, the documentary will be available in a few days on HBO and the trailer can be seen below.
