Trailer Revealed for Doc Under Guardianship

Just days before a new court hearing that could define Britney Spears' future, Netflix released the trailer for the documentary 'Britney Vs Spears'on the afternoon of this Wednesday (22). The production portrays the battle between the singer and her father, Jamie Spears, over the guardianship and assets of the star.

Earlier this year, the documentary “Framing Britney Spears: The Life of a Star”produced by the New York Times, revealed new developments about the case, contributing to and giving strength to the movement “FreeBritney”where fans and supporters ask the singer to regain control of her life and everything she has achieved throughout her career.

Directed by Erin Lee Carr, the documentary arrives on Netflix next Tuesday (28), and the streaming giant promises a work similar to what was produced by the American company, however, with new revelations and unpublished materials, in addition to a more investigative view of the case that finally seems to be close to having an outcome.

According to British tabloid TMZ, Jamie Spears ended up giving up Britney's guardianship due to the momentum the movement gained, but he remained the official guardian of the singer and her entire fortune. She also revealed in her testimony that her father drugged her and forced her to perform, and also prevented her from having children. “I just want my life back”was the request made by the singer to the court, for the end of her guardianship.

Singer Britney Spears arrived as a great promise on the music scene and took off in the 2000s. Charismatic, sensual and sweet, the young woman conquered the spotlight and starred in one of the most mediatic careers of recent years. Spears has sold more than 100 million albums and singles, which made her a world record-holder in sales.

Britney has been involved in numerous scandals due to her drug, alcohol and medication abuse, and even lost custody of her children to her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. She is currently dating her personal trainer Sam Asghari and is fighting to regain her independence.
