Travis Scott shakes the structures of Rock City with an apotheotic show

After a long wait, about 40 minutes late, the main attraction of the first day of Rock in Rio 2024, rapper Travis Scott, closed the Mundo stage this Friday (13) in a show that shook the city's structures of Rock. The performance is part of the “Circus Maximus” tour and practically the entire structure was reassembled within the event to bring the complete experience to the thousands of fans present.

Travis Scott is currently on the “Circus Maximus” tour, which passed through São Paulo last Wednesday (11), and is part of the promotion of the album “Utopia”, released in 2023. The album features tracks such as ” Thank God”, “My Eyes” and “FE!N”, which brought the festival's audience to their feet. Travis's first visit to Brazil was in November 2022, when he performed at the Primavera Sound festival. At the time, he had just resumed the “Astroworld” festival, which gives its name to the album of the same name released by the artist in 2018.

Despite the 42-minute delay, the rapper spared no affection for his Brazilian fans, saying that Rio de Janeiro was one of the most incredible places in the world and inviting three fans to sing the song “sdp interlude” with him on stage. To accommodate the show on the “Circus Maximus” tour, the Rock in Rio organization needed to rearrange the Mundo stage, covering the bottom of its opening and setting up a huge scenographic catwalk in front (a structure that would have hindered Ludmilla's performance for hours before). Travis Scott performed the entire show on top of this space and also featured numerous pyrotechnic effects, such as fireworks and flames.

The show started with “HYAENA”, a track from the album “Utopia” and that wasn't the only one, as he added “Modern Jam”, “God's Country” and “Meltdown”. As usual, the song “FE!N” was repeated five times at a time when the artist himself asked fans to open wheels in the middle of the crowd and jump together, something that was duly obeyed.

“Sicko Mode” was one of the only songs not from the last album. This is a partnership with Canadian rapper Drake, who has also performed at Rock in Rio in 2019. The closing was to the sound of “TELEKINESIS”, which, once again, brought the hundred thousand people present in the city of Rock to their feet. , leaving memorable records for Brazilian fans.
