Ukraine war could last months – The war in Ukraine could go on for months and maybe even years. British Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab said this in an interview with Sky News on Sunday .
As a NATO member state, the United Kingdom will not send troops to Ukraine, but the aim is to “make Putin fail in his plan”. However, that takes time, says Raab.
“This war will not be over in a few days. It will take time for us and our allies. We are talking months, if not years.”
Raab called for “strategic stamina” in the West’s response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It started last Thursday.
Ukraine war could last months, if not years’, says British deputy prime minister
“NATO is resolute in supporting its Eastern European member states in this threat. We will always come to their aid,” Raab said. This does not apply to Ukraine, because that country is not a member of NATO.
For that reason, NATO does not intervene militarily in Ukraine. Ukraine is, however, supported with money, weapons and other material.
In addition, severe sanctions have been imposed against Russia worldwide.
