New Challenge Modes – After completing the main story campaign, players can access new challenge modes – Cyber ​​Space Challenge and Battle Rush – via the title screen. Cyber ​​Space Challenge is a time-attack mode where players compete against the clock to complete multiple Cyber ​​Space stages in a row. Additionally, Sonic Frontiers now features Battle Rush, a timed battle mode where you fight multiple enemies, Guardians and Titans all at once.

Photo Mode – To capture memories of their time on the Starfall Islands, players can open the pause menu to access Photo Mode, which will pause the game and display a freely moveable camera.

Jukebox – Players can listen to their favorite Sonic songs throughout Starfall Islands with the new Jukebox. With 53 song tracks available, players will have instant access to 13 songs and can unlock the remaining 40 songs by collecting sound memories on each island.

Sega sent an email to players informing that the first major Sonic Frontiers DLC, called “Sights, Sounds and Speed ​​Update”, will arrive on Thursday (23).

The email doesn’t provide any details about the DLC, but Sega had previously released a content schedule for 2023 , in which the first update would add a Jukebox, a Photo Mode, and new Challenge Modes.

Also according to the schedule, the next DLC will include something called “Sonic’s Birthday”, as well as an Open Zone Challenge mode and new Koco characters.

The third and final DLC will include new playable characters and a new story.

Sonic Frontiers has sold over 2.9 million copies , exceeding Sega’s expectations . The game is available for PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
