This Wednesday (13) Bitcoin surpassed the US$90,000 level. Result driven by election from Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States. At 11:40 am (Brasília time) the cryptocurrency showed an appreciation of 2.4%, which means US$90,432. Converting into reais, Bitcoin reaches the historic mark of half a million.

The digital currency has already broken 15 price records since Trump's advance in the vote count for the presidency.

Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will lead a department in the Trump administration

The Republican candidate's victory caused euphoria among cryptocurrency investors. The expectation that the currency will become stronger is the result of Donald Trump's promise, during his campaign, to transform the United States into a global center for cryptophilia.

Added to this expectation, Trump announced this Tuesday (12) that the billionaire Elon Musk and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy will head the Department of Government Efficiency.

“Together, these two extraordinary Americans will pave the way for my administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, eliminate excessive regulations, cut unnecessary spending, and restructure federal agencies — essential to the 'Save America' Movement.” says Trump in a statement.

Musk had already commented that he would like to be responsible for making cuts in American government spending. The billionaire even declared that the US was at risk of “bankruptcy” due to high government spending. The debt of single States will already surpass the US$ 196 trillion mark at the beginning of 2024.

Trump's idea for cryptocurrencies

According to Forbes, Trump's initial idea is to create a reserve using cryptocurrencies seized from criminals, with the aim of enhancing the use of this asset. Currently, the United States has around 200,000 bitcoins, valued at US$15 billion, which, converted into reais, represents around R$85.5 billion.
