US grants Israel $19.2 billion to spend on military weapons

This Thursday (8), the United States notified lawmakers of a donation worth R$3.5 billion to Israel and another R$19.2 billion for investment in military weapons that will be used in conflicts between Israel and Iran.

The United States wants to provide this financing in the country, including military weapons. They say that more and more measures are being taken and that conflicts are progressing.

Help Israel

The United States Department of State has approved a measure to provide funding for military equipment and weapons to help with the conflict between Israel and Iran. To this end, Congress approved this supplemental project in April of $14.1 billion to provide military support for more powerful weapons for war.

Financing

The funding would actually be money donated by the United States to Israel to buy more powerful weapons to fight the war against Iran. Sources told CNN that it was not unusual for there to be a delay in releasing the money to Israel. The funding was released this week after Israel and a wider area were bracing for a retaliatory strike by Iran following the killing of senior Hamas leaders. The equipment will not be authorized now, but they will receive funding to purchase effective defense equipment that is currently being built. The supplemental funding has allocated billions in equipment that could be sent to Israel for use in the midst of the war. Both diplomats and the Biden administration have been trying to calm tensions between the nations. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he spoke with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi to mobilize ways to calm the conflicts that are unfolding in those countries.
