This week, Italian fashion house Versace launched a new Icons Collection campaign, starring American actress Anne Hathaway and Irish actor Cillian Murphy, both previously announced earlier this year. The campaign is widely known for bringing reinterpretations of the maison's most iconic pieces, offering a connection between its rich legacy and innovation.
Timeless icons
Under the creative direction of Donatella Versacethe collection is described by her as a celebration of “icons” of the brand, presenting looks inspired by its first collections and already known elements, such as metallic knits, maxi jacquards, leather and refined tailoring. The pieces arrive with the premise of not only being an artistic statement, but also practical and essential items for women's and men's wardrobes.
This new collection features the famous metallic mesh dress, now in a lighter and more fluid version, as well as dresses in jersey or printed silk. Also present are bustier tops and bags in patent leather with a crocodile print, golden Medusa '95 details, tailored coats in grain de poudre wool and knitwear with the Barocco motif in jacquard. All photos were taken by renowned photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, former friends of Donatella.

Anne Hathaway and Cillian Murphy: the new faces of Versace
The award-winning actress already has a long-standing relationship with Versace, as she has worn the brand's outfits in her memorable looks on the red carpet, exuding sophistication and elegance. For Hathaway, the brand is much more than bright prints and tailoring; it represents a way of dressing beyond the ordinary and being exceptional. “I am very grateful to Donatella Versace for seeing me in this collection; She actually sees me even more clearly than I do.”said the actress.

Cillian Murphy, in turn, was a surprise when he was announced as the campaign's protagonist, given his more discreet profile. However, the Oscar winner for Best Actor brings with him the brand's signature style and authenticity, expressing how comfortable he feels wearing Versace clothes. “When you see, feel and wear the clothes, it is immediately clear that they are designer pieces with a sense of tradition, craftsmanship and true strength of character, which, for me, is truly Versace.”he explained. Murphy also stated that being part of this special collection was an honor for him.
