Villamix Festival announces Post Malone as international attraction

After much speculation, the mystery is over. The Villamix festival announced this Thursday afternoon (3), through a teaser on its social networks, that rapper Post Malone will be the exclusive international attraction to perform at the São Paulo edition of the event.

The New York rapper's last visit was in 2023, when he brought the tour “If y'all weren't here I'd Be Crying”, which promoted his then new album “Austin”released in July of the same year. On that occasion, he played a show at Pedreira Paulo Leminski, in Curitiba, and closed the first night of The Town festival, in São Paulo, both presentations were attended by a large supporting band whose mission was to bring a more “rocker” appears in the singer's repertoire. Before that, Post had also closed a night dedicated to rap at Rock in Rio 2022.

Now, the North American will bring the album “F1-Trillion”released in August 2024 and which is already in the ears of fans. He is currently on a small tour promoting the album. Another project that caught the public's attention was his partnership with none other than Taylor Swift. The two recorded the song “Fortnight” for the album “The Tortured Poets Department”released in April this year. The duo ended up winning the 2024 VMA in the “Best Collaboration” category.

Villamix's return

In addition to Post's arrival, the public must be missing the Villamix festival even more, the last edition of which took place in June 2019. The event originates in Goiânia and is usually focused on country music, however, several musical styles have already appeared at the event , such as pop, funk, axé and electronica. In addition, several international attractions have already been present, such as Shawn Mendes, Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato, Maluma, Nick Jonas, J Balvin, Liam Payne, among others.

Despite having its main edition in Goiânia, Villamix takes place in several cities across the country, such as Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. This year, the São Paulo edition, where the rapper will perform, will take place on December 21st at Neo Química Arena. Sales start next Monday (7) on Eventim's official website.
