Vitor Roque wants to stay at Barcelona despite Al-Hilal's offer

After being signed in January, the striker is going through a delicate moment as his name has been included in a new negotiation: the Spanish club has agreed to sell him and the latest offer came from Al Hilal, according to the Saudi Arabian newspaper, Arriyadiyah. The issue is that the Brazilian athlete has no interest in leaving Barça.

Six month transfer

The player arrived at the Catalan club at the beginning of the year directly from Athlético-PR and Vitor Roque, together with his agent, is not willing to accept the negotiations, as he wants to stay at Barcelona and fight to achieve projection in his career.

Despite his performances in this part of the season, he is still not listed for the next one in 2024/25, precisely because the athlete for whom he came as a replacement, midfielder Gavi, has already recovered from injury and will return to training.

The club's board needs new revenues to comply with La Liga's Financial Fair Play and Barcelona's salary cap has plummeted. Therefore, it has to prove to the federation that it has the means to cover the costs that professional football demands: reducing the payroll and increasing revenues.

Financial movement

The club's financial statements show that revenue is currently around €492 million (R$2.7 billion), meaning there is a €222 million (R$1.2 billion) shortfall from the agreed limit. The most immediate alternative is to sell off parts of the squad. Spanish media speculate that Vitor Roque is on the list of Barca departures, which will make room for the signings of Nico Williams and Dani Olmo.

So far, the former Hurricane has played in just 16 games for the Catalan team, of which he has only started two. He has played an average of 22 minutes per game and scored two goals.
