VMA 2024 celebrates 40 years and reveals Lenny Kravitz and Karol G as attractions

MTV revealed new artists who will perform at the Video Music Awards (VMA) 2024, which will take place on September 11th and will reward the most notable music videos of the year.

Among the confirmed artists is Shawn Mendeswhich will have a space on stage. The Canadian singer recently announced his return to music after a four-year hiatus and has already released two singles from his new album, “Shawn”with the tracks “Why Why Why” and “Isn’t That Enough”. Mendes' presence also generated prominence for Sabrina Carpenter and Camila Cabellowhich were already confirmed for the event. In August, Carpenter released his new album, “Short n Sweet”which addresses the love triangle involving her, Mendes and Cabello.

Furthermore, Karol G is also on the list of attractions. The Colombian singer recently concluded her tour “Mañana Will Be Beautiful Tour”considered one of the most profitable among Latin artists. She was in Brazil in May and will return in September to perform at Rock in Rioin Rio de Janeiro, on September 20th.

Anita will represent Brazil at the VMA 2024, and the American rapper LL Cool J will also join the list of artists who will liven up the party.

Who takes the stage

The VMA 2024, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary, will take place in New York on September 11th. Since its creation by MTV in 1984, the ceremony covers several categories, from sound quality to the visual production of music videos.

Fans can vote in some categories until August 30th on the official website.

Taylor Swift is the artist with the most nominations, competing for 10 awards, including: Artist of the Year, Best Pop, Song of the Year (Fortnight), Video of the Year (Fortnight), Best Editing, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Collaboration , Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects.
