The MTV MIAW 2021 awards ceremony aired last Thursday (23) and guaranteed a night full of diversity, emotion and, above all, art. With 33 categories, the statuettes of MTV's most famous kitten brightened the awards stage. Pabllo Vittar, who was also the presenter of the year (along with Rafael Portugal) and performer, was the most nominated, alongside Luísa Sonza, both with 9 nominations, followed by Anitta, with 8.

In addition to all the names nominated in the categories, MIAW 2021 also honored two great artists who have positively impacted society: Paulo Gustavo and Emicida. Comedian Paulo Gustavo received the Transforma MIAW LGBTQIAP+ statuette, for having brought the community's agenda to the cinema, TV and theater screens, with the sweet and funny Dona Hermínia. The award was received by Thales Bretas, his widower.

Rapper Emicida received the Transforma MIAW Antirracista statuette for his role as one of the leading voices in the anti-racist struggle. The singer was also recently nominated for the 2021 BET Awards, competing in the Best International Artist category.
