World Cup of 2026 – The 2026 Fifa World Cup will be played in sixteen cities, eleven of which are in the United States, three in Mexico and two in Canada. That made the FIFA Thursday night (Dutch time) known during a television show from New York.
The U.S. will host matches in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle during the global final tournament.
In Canada, football will be played in Toronto and Vancouver and Mexico hosts World Cup matches in Guadalajara, Mexico City and Monterrey.
The three home countries are automatically qualified for the tournament.
“We are looking forward to working with the host cities and hope to make it an unprecedented World Cup together. In addition, it would be great if this were the breakthrough in our efforts to make football truly known worldwide,” said FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
It is a first that a World Cup is organized by three countries. In addition, 48 countries will participate for the first time in four years’ time. In Qatar, there are still 32 this year.
The countries will be divided into sixteen groups of three countries at the tournament in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
In 2026, the Dutch team is normally led by Ronald Koeman, who has signed a contract up to and including the tournament in that year.
Louis van Gaal will hand over his duties to the former defender of Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord, among others, after the World Cup in Qatar.
