Xuxa is confirmed at the festival

This Friday (20), presenter Xuxa's participation in the Rock In Rio music festival was confirmed, surprising fans with her show at one of the biggest music festivals in the world. Xuxa will perform after the show by North American Katy Perry, on Palco Itaú. The presenter also revealed how she expects to perform for the first time at the festival and how her career on TV marked the generation of Brazilians.

Xuxa at Rock in Rio

Xuxa Meneghel confirmed on her Instagram profile through a video that she will be present this Friday (20) at Rock In Rio. Xuxa will appear on the Itaú Stage at around 1:30 am, right after the highly anticipated show by North American Katy Perry .

Xuxa talked about how she feels about participating in Rock In Rio, at the age of 61, and how her songs, TV shows and films marked the generations of several children who grew up watching it. “The future is there. The children are there. The kids who grew up with me are showing their kids the work I did in the past. Want something more futuristic than that? That's what being the future means: being part of many people's past, being the present and being part of people's imagination for the future. The fact that I am part of the imagination and also of the daily lives of these people’s grandchildren moves me a lot,” said the presenter.

Remembering childhood

Xuxa informed that he will do everything to transform the “City of Rock” into a big dance floor with his successful hits. Rodrigo Montesano, responsible for Brand Experiences and sponsorships at Itaú Unibanco, described how Xuxa's presence will bring nostalgia by remembering moments that marked the childhood of many Brazilians, becoming a tribute to the singer's trajectory.

The day chosen for the Brazilian to perform is precisely on a separate day just for women, entitled “Dia Delas”, which brings together a 100% female line-up, and which features shows, for example, by Katy Perry, Cyndi Lauper, Karol G, Ivete Sangalo and Iza.
