Queen of Brazilian rock, Rita Lee passed away this Monday, the 8th, at her home in the city of São Paulo; big names in Brazilian football paid homage to the artist

Rita Lee, queen of Brazilian rock (or “patron saint of freedom”, as she preferred to be called), died last Monday, 8, at her residence in the capital of São Paulo. The singer was undergoing treatments for lung cancer, with which she was diagnosed in 2021. The news was released on the artist’s social media.

“The wake will be open to the public, at the Planetarium in Ibirapuera Park, on Wednesday, the 10th, from 10 am to 5 pm. According to Rita’s wishes, her body will be cremated. The ceremony will be private. In this moment of deep sadness, the family appreciates everyone’s affection and love “said the statement.

As one of the main composers in the history of Brazilian music, Rita Lee was also a committed and passionate Corinthian. The artist even wrote a song of idolatry to Timão with Arnaldo Baptista, named “Amor Branco e Preto”.
