Meet Pedro Pascal, the “daddy” of the moment

If you've been browsing the internet lately, you've seen a lot of memes and videos of Pedro Pascal on social media with the hashtag #daddy. The 47-year-old Chilean actor became well known when he played Oberyn Marteel in game of Thrones (2011 – 2019), and earned the nickname 'daddy' from internet users. On the web, the nickname represents an artist with a big daddy face with whom fans have a paternal, affectionate relationship, but also sexually lust.

Pedritoanother affectionate nickname for the actor, consolidated his role as daddy when The Mandalorian (2019) premiered on Disney+. Although his character Din Djarin rarely took off his beskar helmet in the three seasons of the series, his bad-tempered way with Grogu, Baby Yoda, ended up becoming the love between father and son, and the web discovered his daddy there.

With the success of the series The Last of Usreleased in 2023 by HBO, Pedro Pascal played Joel, the tough character who went straight from the PlayStation game to streaming, who crossed half of the United States protecting Ellie (Bella Ramsayalso from GoT), the daughter he “adopted” due to an apocalyptic world.

The Chilean is in three of the most popular series of the decade. He also worked alongside an authentic national daddy, Wagner Mouraon the Serie Narcos (2015), produced by Netflix. Pascal is also involved in causes such as LGBTQIAP+ rights, his younger sister, Lux Pascalis a trans woman, and he always shows his support for her and her community on social media and at events.

Pascal is son of a doctor and a psychologist who went into exile during the time of the dictatorial government of Augusto Pinochet in Chile when he was a nine-month-old baby. He followed in his parents' footsteps, embracing left-wing causes and becoming a tireless defender of human, women's and minority rights, as well as the protection of the environment and other issues equally important for a fairer society. In other words, solidarity appears to be an intrinsic characteristic of Pascal's personality, transmitted through his paternal genes.

After leaving Latin America with his family, Pedro went to Denmark and then everyone moved to Texas in the United States, where he began studying theater. Pursuing an acting career, he moved to New York, where he studied at Tisch School of the Artsand then got work off-Broadway and in series such as Buffy, Law & Order, NYPD Blue, Nurse Jackie, CSI and several others, as well as some films such as The Great Wall; Kingsman: The Golden Circle; It is Wonder Woman: 1984.

In an interview with the channel AND! the actor admitted that he likes being called daddy and that it is indeed a DILF ('Dad I'd Like to F***, or Dad I'd Like to F*** with)and also warned: “I'm your slutty daddy”which in Portuguese and in a more familiar translation, “I’m your naughty daddy”.

Good-natured about his jokes, Pedro, who has never said whether he is married, single or his sexual orientation, has hundreds of videos accumulating his daddy status.

At the 2022 CCXP, Pascal was asked “How big of a responsibility is it to be everyone’s favorite space daddy?” and in front of a packed auditorium in São Paulo, Pedrito responded, with a smile on his face “This is the greatest honor of my life. It's an honor to be your daddy”.
