A AbleGamers Brazilthat top entity that fights against the social isolation of people with disabilities (PwD) through games, will be present at the Gamescom Latamthe biggest gaming event in the world, which is coming to Latin America.

And you can bet they'll rock a stand full of accessibility features!

Accessibility on the Rise

The AbleGamers Brasil stand will be a show of inclusion. There will be audio description and assistance in Libras in real time through an ICOM totem, as well as tablets with the ICOM application for deaf people to use while moving around the event. It does not stop there!

Christian Bernauer, CEO of AbleGamers Brasil, is super excited: “Making Gamescom Latam one of the most accessible gaming events in the world has always been our goal. We are happy and honored to bring these accessibility tools and activities to the first edition, ensuring that all players with disabilities can get the most out of them.”

What's going to happen at the stand

  • Audio description and Libras: Real-time service for deaf people through totems and tablets with the ICOM app.
  • Decompression Room: A safe space for neurodivergent people, with signboards with icons to facilitate communication.
  • Assistive Technologies: Testing Colibri and Conversia devices.
  • Game Stations: Play on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 consoles with adapted controls. Two PCs will be available, one with an MMORPG developed by Unicamp for blind people and the other with Counter-Strike 2 and JBL's Quantum Guide Play software, which is a screen reader for visually impaired people to play.

Making Gamescom Latam Inclusive

In addition to all the activities at the stand, AbleGamers Brasil will help make the entire event more accessible. This includes ICOM services in key locations (CAEX, infirmary and ticket office), audio description at strategic points and tactile maps in Braille.
