Brasileirão 2024 has the longest average permanence of coaches in history
– international sports, latest sports news, local games and international games

According to an article made by the Espião Estatístico team, from G1, released this Thursday (27), the 2024 season of the Brasileirão became the season with the longest tenure of coaches in the history of the Brasileirão in consecutive points, surpassing the previous mark, achieved by 2013 season.

A new record

According to the research and article carried out by the Espião Estatístico team, from G1, even with the recent dismissal of Fernando Diniz, nine out of ten rounds of the Brasileirão have, until now, been made up of teams with long-serving coaches on their teams. However, the mark can still be expanded, taking into account the matches that will be rescheduled, such as, for example, that of teams from Rio Grande do Sul that suffered from climate catastrophes in the south of the country. The third and fifth rounds had games postponed – for different reasons – which could see an even greater increase in the Brasileirão's 2024 season record.

Claudio Tencati, from Criciúma, has been in command of the Santa Catarina team for almost 1000 days, while Vojvoda, who commands Fortaleza, is already heading towards 1200 games in charge of Leão. Renato Gaúcho, has been coach of Grêmio for 663 days, while Eduardo Coudet, from Internacional, is heading towards a full year in the position. To close the fifth round, Cruzeiro has Fernando Seabra in charge of the fox for less than 3 months.

The sixth and seventh rounds had one of the biggest 'blows' in this record-breaking count. Vasco and Vitória lost their coaches – Vitória's coach alone had been in the position for over 450 days. With Fernando Diniz leaving Fluminense during the 12th round, the longest technical stay in the championship happened. The coach had been with the tricolor carioca for over 2 years.

2013 surpassed

In the 2013 edition of the Brazilian championship, the average length of stay of coaches without dismissals went into free fall with the departure of Muricy Ramalho, from Santos, when the coach had worked for more than 750 days with the São Paulo team.

In the fifth round, the one who was fired was the “pofexô”, Vanderlei Luxemburgo, with exactly 475 games in charge of Grêmio. Ney Franco was fired from São Paulo after almost a year of campaigning. In the ninth round, it was Abel Braga's turn to leave Fluminense, where he had also been campaigning for more than 750 days.
