Brazil faces the Dominican Republic in the second round of the under-20 World Cup

The Brazilian Under-20 team faces the Dominican Republic this Wednesday (24), for the category’s World Cup, held in Argentina. This is Brazil’s second match in the competition. The team led by coach Ramon Menezes lost in the debut to the Italian team by 3-2.

The Dominican team was also defeated in the debut, having lost to Nigeria by 2-1 and will face Italy in the second round.

Brazil is present in Group D, where the two best teams advance, qualifying for the round of 16.

Brazil should go to the field with the same starters that faced Italy in the opening of the competition, despite the team having improved in the second half with some changes.

Mycael (Athletico-PR); Arthur (América-MG), Jean (Coritiba), Robert Renan (Zenit) and Kaiki Bruno (Cruzeiro); Andrey (Vasco), Marlon Gomes (Vasco) and Matheus Martins (Watford); Giovani (Palmeiras), Biro (Corinthians) and Marcos Leonardo (Santos).

If there are any changes, it will probably be in the offensive sector, with the additions of Savio and Kevin who gave the team another face in the second half of the game against Italy.

With the defeat in the debut, Brazil finds itself in a situation of obligation to win this game to still have chances of qualifying. In addition, it is a game for athletes to show good football after a bad debut.

It took two days of training for coach Ramon Menezes to adjust everything that went wrong in the first match, preventing it from happening again in this game, against a significantly weaker opponent in relation to the European team.

The third and final match of the Brazilian team in this group stage of the World Cup will be played on Saturday (27), at the Ciudad de La Plata stadium, home of Estudiantes.
