Carlos Alcaraz wins in Roland Garros debut
– international sports, latest sports news, local games and international games

This Sunday (26), the Spanish Carlos Alcaraz, number 3 in the world, defeated the American JJ Wolf, currently 107th in the world, by 3 sets to 0, with partials of 6-1/6-2/6-1, in less than two hours and advanced to the second round of Roland Garros.

Recent injuries

Alcaraz was coming from a series of injuries, not competing in the Master 1000 in Rome due to muscle swelling in his right arm. The injury was a consequence of a previous problem, which took the athlete out of the Monte Carlo Master 1000 in April. Before that, the tennis player had also suffered an injury to his right ankle, against Brazilian Thiago Monteiro, in the first round of the Rio Open, in February.

The injuries that took him out of two Master 1000s, one of the most important tournaments on the world circuit, second only to the Grand Slams, had no impact on his debut at Roland Garros, which left the athlete happy and ready to show his true tennis skills again. .

I'm very happy to be back in Paris. It was a difficult month for me. I love competing, I love playing tennis, and being away from that was tough. I tried everything I could to be 100% here in Paris to show my best tennis, and I think I did that today.”
