Sandy performs an emotional duet with her father Xororó before taking a break from the stage

Singer Sandy performed this Sunday (16) at the Unimed space in São Paulo. The event had a special appearance by her father, country singer Xororó. The show was also attended by her mother, Noely Lima, who recorded the moment from the audience. It was the singer's last show before an indefinite hiatus in her career, announced by her in early May.

The singer also announced that all proceeds from the shows will go to the victims of the tragedy in Rio Grande do Sul, as she herself announced in May. “I'm here to join these thousands, or millions, of hearts that are crushed with so much sadness, with all this devastation in Rio Grande do Sul. I've helped many times, I've made some donations, I've also spread the word in many ways, there are many ways to help, but I felt that I could do more and that I needed to do more.”she said, in a video posted on her Instagram profile.

“And then, I was about to announce two concert dates, because I wanted to announce that I'm going to take a break, a hiatus from the stage, but I wanted to say goodbye to my audience in a better way, I wanted to be close, I wanted to give my audience a big, sonorous hug. And then, I decided to make this moment memorable, so I'm going to donate all the income we get from ticket sales for the two concerts to this cause in Rio Grande do Sul. We're looking with my team at how to do it effectively,” completed.

It's not the first time Sandy has taken a break from her career

Sandy is recognized as one of the best singers in Brazil. Starting her career as a child, forming a duo with her brother Junior, it was already noticeable that the singer had a distinctive voice in the music industry. With albums such as “As Quatro Estações” (1999) and “Manuscrito” (2011), the singer has also performed hits by Michael Jackson, Metallica and other international bands, receiving great critical acclaim. She has been away from the stage on other occasions, such as during her pregnancy, or for other reasons, and this would not be the first time.
