Fire in house in Rotterdam

A fire broke out in a house on De Vliegerstraat in Rotterdam during the night from Monday to Tuesday. One resident was rescued from the building by firefighters. 

About twenty people had to leave their homes temporarily. No one was injured.

The emergency services received a report of a fire in Rotterdam-West around 4 a.m. 

The fire is believed to have started in the living room. Although the fire was quickly extinguished, the house is uninhabitable.

The person rescued by the fire brigade was checked in an ambulance, but did not need to be taken to hospital.

After the fire brigade had ventilated the other houses, the residents were allowed back inside. The cause of the fire is unknown.
