Marquinhos renews his contract with Paris Saint-Germain

O Paris Saint-Germain announced this Friday (19) that it renewed the defender’s contract Marquinhos. The Brazilian’s contract was extended and his bond with the French club now runs until 2028.

For the club’s official website, marquinhos spoke more about how he felt about renewing his contract with PSG.

“I am very happy to announce this contract renewal, but also very proud. This is a very special moment for me. O Paris Saint-Germain he always gave me a lot of confidence, and I also have enormous confidence in this club. I am convinced that we will continue to achieve great things together for years to come.”he said Marquinhos.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, President and CEO of PSG, also spoke a little about the contract renewal of the Brazilian defender.

“We are very happy that Marquinhos has renewed with the family Paris Saint-Germain. I remember him when he arrived at the club at the age of 19. From the first day he showed a lot of dedication and winning spirit, always fighting for the shirt of the Paris Saint-Germain. His talent, experience and commitment to the club are exceptional. I am confident that we will have many more successes together, as the story of Marquinhos remains at PSG”commented the president.

The defender was revealed by Corinthians in 2012 and champion of liberators in the club. After the competition ends, marquinhos was bought by Rome, Italy, and stayed there for a year. The Brazilian was bought by PSG in 2013 and will complete 10 years at the club in July.

When Thiago Silva left the club in 2020 marquinhos became the new captain team’s. At the Paris Saint-Germain, the defender won seven titles of the French Championship, six titles of French League Cup, six titles of french cup and six titles French Supercup.
