Presenter of Esporte Espetacular, Bárbara Coelho denounces harassment suffered by her

This Wednesday (19), the presenter of the program “Esporte Espetacular” on Globo, Bárbara Coelho, reported an episode of online harassment she suffered. A man identified as Rodrigo published a video on his Twitter, where he masturbated to a video of the presenter.

Upon seeing the post where she was tagged, Bárbara Coelho sent a message to the man informing him that she would take legal action against his actions, and also asked her followers for help in reporting her profile.

“I don't want to 'be strong' again. I'm angry”, said the presenter on her Twitter profile, “I definitely don't have the stomach to repost the video. But I would like your support to report it”

In response to the threat of prosecution made by the presenter, the man wrote identified as @Rodrigo11417397, “Even those who molest women on the streets or rape them don't go to prison. Imagine me because of a video inside my own home”

In August, during an appearance on the Encontro program, the presenter claimed to have been the victim of a doping attempt in an app car, known as the “smell scam”.

“When I got into the car I didn't feel anything, I realized that the car looked very bad, dirty, but I got in already distracted. We are on the phone a lot nowadays”, she said.

At the time, the presenter had requested an app car to go to a doctor's appointment, according to her, shortly after she got into the car she smelled a strong smell that left her dizzy, at the same time she sent a message to a friend informing her of her location and started to feel very ill.

During the race, Barbara pretended to be sending an audio message to her husband, asking him to wait for her, which made the driver look at her in the rearview mirror. She asked to stop at the first condominium, which made the driver inform her that the race was not over yet. According to Barbara, she was already preparing to jump out of the moving car, when the driver stopped near a stand, which allowed her to ask for help. “falls into tears”he stated.

The episode did not result in a police report, but the presenter contacted Uber, which was investigating the case.

Regarding the harassment she suffered on Twitter, her press office informed in a note on Twitter that the platform acted in accordance with its “abusive behavior policy”, which prohibits Tweets with unwanted sexual advances and that objectify an individual without their consent.
