According to what was disclosed, the game is currently in the concept phase, which is when the studio assembles the team, sets priorities, develops prototypes and tests gameplay elements.
This means that the remake, now being made by Ubisoft Montreal and no longer by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, has been rebooted from scratch, meaning it will still be a few years before release.
Ubisoft also said that there are currently no plans to remake other games in the Prince of Persia franchise and that there is still no release date for The Sands of Time.
Finally, the game will not be present at the Ubisoft Forward presentation in September.
