During their visit to Brazil, where they will perform five shows, Coldplay took the opportunity to participate in a social project in São Paulo, taking homeless people to their last show in the country at the Morumbi Stadium with the NGO SP Invisível.

In your Instagramthe NGO posted a video of excerpts from the presentation of “The Scientist” and scenes from your project with the words “What if SP Invisível could take homeless people to a Coldplay concert?”

The decision is part of the union that the band Coldplay has with “Love Button Global Movement” throughout the length of their current tour. On the movement's website they say:

“We are proud to announce our collaboration with Global Citizen, the world’s largest organization of action-takers and impact-makers dedicated to ending extreme poverty now. Together, we are traveling with Coldplay and their ‘Music Of The Spheres’ world tour to work with local organizations in every city to make a difference in their communities and change the lives of our human family.”.

The NGO chosen to travel to Brazil was SP Invisível, which fights for the cause of homeless people. In addition to attending the show, the volunteers also distributed meals throughout São Paulo.

André Soler, president of SP Invisível, said in an interview with G1:

“We saw an opportunity to offer some joy and hope to these people who are often in difficult situations. This initiative is a way of showing that everyone has the right to have fun and have access to culture.”

For CNN, Ana Carolina Ceribelli, marketing manager at SP Invisível, told us how the group that will see the show was chosen:

“We decided to choose people who are homeless. We don’t know how people who are directly on the sidewalk would behave at an event with lots of people and lots of lights. We contacted the shelter we have strengthened in Campo Limpo to understand who these people would be. Within the heterogeneous universe that exists in the homeless population, we took those who are already looking for some partnership in the network and we came up with these four men.”

Colplay also uses this tour for other actions, such as donating 10% of the profits from the tour, CDs and sales to NGOs with an environmental focus.
