After confusion in Choque-Rei, Palmeiras will contest the summary

The classic between Palmeiras and São Paulo last Sunday (18) was marked by confusion during the game and by controversies, which did not end after the final whistle.

One of these controversies is the expulsion of Zé Rafael after the game that the green and white team won 2-1 during a confusion between players, coaching staff and employees of both clubs at the final whistle of the match and this will be the expulsion that is considered unfair by the Palmeiras board.

According to Anderson Barros, Palmeiras' football director, the club is going to the CBF and the STJD to contest the summary that states Zé Rafael's expulsion. Check out what the director had to say to the GE portal about the situation:

“We will not file a formal complaint with the arbitration committee. We will file representations with the competent courts. When there is a summary that is not true, that has many errors, we will contest it. Otherwise, the summary is always sovereign, you pay for something you did not do. When you make a mistake, you have to pay. And there has come a time when we need to put an end to it.”

The clash was dramatic with Palmeiras scoring the winning goal in the last play of the game after 13 minutes of injury time and with all the emotional charge at the end of the game there were confusions on and off the field, including on the way to the locker room.

According to the report, on the way to the changing rooms Rodrigo Nestor grabbed Zé Rafael's neck with excessive force and the Palmeiras player retaliated with a punch to the São Paulo player's face.
