Governor Peter Mbah, from the state of Enugu, who is also the leader of the party in the area, attended the meeting.

Also attending the meeting were a former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, Senate Minority Whip, Osita NGWU and other members of the National Assembly, among others.

“The party praises the trial of the court of appeal that defends the Hon. Ske Udeh-Okoye as the party's national secretary, according to the constitution of our party and the position of the Southeast Zonal Executive Committee of our party. Anyanwu, the noun occupant of the position, walked away to compete for the state government's election of November 11, 2023 on the PDP platform, but lost to the acting governor, Hope Uzodinma of the Congress of all progressives.

However, he did not send a letter of resignation to the position of national secretary of the party.

Meanwhile, in October 2023, a few weeks before IMO's election, the PDP leadership in the Southeast named Mr. Ude-Okoye to replace Anyanwu as the party's national secretary.

The Premium Times reports that the position of national secretary was divided into the Southeast by the PDP in 2021, before the party's national convention on October 30 of that year.

In the heat of the debate, a higher court in the state of Enugu, in October 2023, ordered the PDP to replace Anyanwu as national secretary of the party with Mr. Ude-Okoye. The process was filed by the former PDP National Youth Leader.

The PDP NWC had responded to the order in a motion presented on October 24, 2023.

In the motion, NWC asked the court to annul the order, arguing that “it was obtained by fraud and suppression of relevant facts” and also criticized the order because it is not specific to which position Mr. Udeh-Okoye should fill.

In another turnaround, in early January 2024, a Federal Court in Abuja declared Anyanwu as the valid national secretary of the PDP.

Judge, Inyang Ekwo, also restricted the PDP's national leadership from appointing anyone as his interim national secretary until the end of Anyanwu's four -year possession on December 9, 2025, as involved in the party's constitution.

In December, the Appeal Court, the Division Enugu confirmed the Supreme Court's ruling that Ude-Okoye, former national youth leader, would be recognized as the PDP national secretary against Anyanwu.

At Ridwan Abdullahi's main trial, the Appeal Court said the Anyanwu claim to the position after he contested and emerged as the election of the PDP government in the state of IMA violated the party's constitution, and his appeal had no merit.

Despite the sentence, Anyanwu refused to vacate the position and called for the decision in the Supreme Court.

Mr. Ude-Okoye, in turn, assumed his duty on December 30 of the force of the trial.

However, the Court of Appeal in Abuja in January 2025 ordered both parties to maintain the status quo until the Supreme Court resolves the appeal.

Messrs. Udeh-Okoye and Anyanwu interpreted the court order differently.

Ude-okoye believes that the status quo means that it should continue to function as the national secretary of the PDP, as stated by the Court of Appeal.

Anyanwu, for his part, argued that the order of the status quo of the Court represented a suspension of the execution of the trial of the Court of Appeal, stating Mr. Ude-Okoye as national secretary.

Recently, the National PDP -Debo Oologunagba port port, and its deputy, Ibrahim Abdullahi, countered who is the authentic national secretary.

Mr. Oologunagba recognized Mr. UDE-Okoye as the National Secretary of the PDP, citing the trial of the Appeal Court.

But Abdullahi countered him and said Anyanwu as the legitimate national secretary of the party, with the order of the Supreme Court in Abuja.
