Filha de Mingau details new surgery and financial aid from SBT

Mingau, bassist of Ultraje a Rigor, returned to hospital in serious condition at Hospital São Luiz, in São Paulo, after being hospitalized for being shot in the head in Paraty (RJ), in the early hours of September 3rd. Since then, friends and family have been rooting for his recovery, in addition to updating his health status.

In an interview with the program “Chega Mais”, Mingau’s only daughter, Isabella Aglio, scared her followers with the expenses involved in her father’s health. It is worth mentioning that, eventually, she had to abandon work together with her mother to take care of the musician.

Primarily, she has already raised R$325,000 from medical treatments and surgical procedures, but another R$300,000 is planned. However, fortunately, Isabella said that she receives help from SBT, in addition to raising money through charity shows and online fundraising.

“They thought I was taking advantage. They asked, ‘Wow, he’s on TV, why are you doing this? You are rich’. But the truth is that we don’t know what will happen. He still has the tracheostomy. It’s a multidisciplinary treatment”, she explained, in summary.

“My mother and I are at the forefront of everything. She stopped her life to help me. I’m an only child and I have to take care of his life. We live with difficulties, but I work too, I’m an influencer. I took a break because it is difficult, and we are receiving help from SBT, which helps a lot”, Isabelle added afterwards.

As Mingau has still been hospitalized since February, when he returned to the hospital, Isabella Aglio then updated her father’s health status. “He is in the hospital, with no expected discharge date. He spent four months in the ICU, then went to a rehabilitation clinic, but he had a gastrointestinal problem there, an infection.

“Since February 2nd he had to go back to the hospital. He is in the ICU, but as a precaution. […] With this amount raised, we were able to pay for both surgeries and we are out of debt, but he is still hospitalized and will have another surgery very soon”, she said afterwards.

“He will have a cranioplasty, because he lost part of his skull, which could not be saved after the shot. So he will need to put on this prosthesis not just for aesthetics, but to protect. This can help with his rehabilitation, it will make things easier. Today (3/4) there are seven months of hospitalization”, continued Mingau’s daughter, in summary.

“It was very intense, no one knew if he would survive, so the first month was chaos. We didn’t leave there, my mother and I. There was a device that measured brain activity, so we spoke to him through the machine. He had some reactions, but he was completely sedated”, concluded Isabella Aglio, finally.
