Rainer Cadete prepares authorial EP and releases track with Vanessa da Mata

Heartthrob Rainer Cadete is not only handsome and elegant, but also has an extra ‘Q’: He sings. Luigi from “Terra e Paixão” is preparing to release an EP, “Leves e Reflexivas”, alongside Renato Luciano. In an interview with Jornal Extra, he told everything about the new phase and the latest release that precedes his EP “Leve e Reflexivas”, the name of the duo, with singer Vanessa da Mata. Rainer revealed that it is the only collaboration on the album:

“In “Far from the same bag”, we invite (the public) to think that people are only equal in their differences. And that everyone deserves a decent space to live in this world.”

For the EP, the releases totaled eight tracks, released between 2021 and 2023. He also said that the project is divided between A and B. Rainer clarified that the first is more romantic and the second addresses more social themes:

“The A-side is light, I sing romance-related songs by myself. OB, reflective, addresses social and political issues. It was an album that took a while to come out, I’m going at my pace. It’s been nice to think about art in an authorial way. I’m used to interpreting the text of brilliant authors on TV, film and theater. Now, singing my own text, which I feel like talking about, is being very interesting.”

About his career, he revealed that it might come as a surprise to some that he sings, but he warned that he has always been in this art and started in the evangelical church:

“The first time I stepped on stage was in an evangelical church, singing. I was about 9 years old, and my sister Sandra took me to the worship ministry. We lived in the suburbs of Brasilia. From there, they started calling us to sing at weddings. And so it was until I was 14. Currently, I no longer belong to churches, but I respect other people’s faith. My singing came from that place of venting and connecting with the divine. Even today, when I sing, I feel it is a form of prayer.”

Dream in Partnership? Yes! He revealed that he has a name that he really wants to share the vocals with:

“Maria Gadu! When I arrived in Rio, at the age of 18, I attended soirées with her, who was not yet famous. She was Mayra (Maria Gadú’s real name).”
