This Sunday (22), the decision of the Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Championship took place, in João Pessoa, Paraíba, receiving the participation of big names in the country's sport, including Rebeca Andrade, from Flamengo and Caio Souza, from Minas, guaranteeing their titles.

Feminine

Competing in her first competition after the Olympic Games, Olympic champion Rebeca Andrade only participated in the uneven bars finals, where she dominated the competition, scoring 14.500 and securing gold on the apparatus. Rebeca confirmed that this was what the coaching staff had planned, to only perform on the uneven bars, and in the qualifying round, a single vault, which was enough to help Flamengo in the club competition.

The Rio de Janeiro club also took home the gold medal in all other apparatuses. Larissa Machado, born in 2009, won on vault, while Hellen Silva, born in 2008, won on both floor and beam.

After the result, Olympic and world champion Rebeca Andrade commented on her role as an inspiration for so many children and on the possibility of these athletes having someone as a reference to achieve their dreams.

“It is very important to know that I am a role model for so many children. We are here to show that it is good to have someone to inspire us, children can dream and achieve whatever they want to be, with their families supporting and encouraging them. These are dreams, why not dream?”
