Jay-Z appears for the first time after being accused of sexual crime

Sean “Jay-Z” Carter has made his first public appearance after being named in a federal lawsuit involving serious allegations of child abuse and trafficking. The 55-year-old rapper attended the premiere of Mufasa: The Lion King at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Monday, December 9, accompanied by his wife, Beyoncé, daughter, Blue Ivy, and mother-in-law, Tina Knowles. The lawsuit, which initially involved Sean Diddy Combs, was recently reopened and added Jay-Z's name. The rapper has denied accusations made by an undisclosed woman who claims she was abused by him in 2000, when she was 13 years old.

Rapper Jay-Z attended the premiere of Mufasa: The Lion King on Monday night (9), at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. The businessman was there to support singer Beyoncé and the couple's daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who voiced the main characters in the film. This marked Jay-Z's first public meeting since his name was mentioned in a civil case involving serious allegations of sexual abuse. The rapper was added to the lawsuit, which includes claims against him and fellow businessman and rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs. Jay-Z's inclusion in the case garnered even more significant attention as Beyoncé's husband was the first celebrity mentioned in the Diddy case.

Tina Knowles also drew attention on social media recently after being accused of interacting with a post that referenced allegations against her gender. In response, Tina clarified that her account had been hacked and that any unusual activity on her profile was not her doing.

At the event, Jay-Z and Beyoncé expressed support for their daughter, Blue Ivy, who became one of the highlights of the night.

Blue Ivy stood out in a striking gold and black dress and posed for several photos. Her parents, visibly proud, followed her closely throughout the celebration, marking her debut in a prominent role.

Accusation against Jay-Z

The accusations against Jay-Z were included in a federal lawsuit reopened on Sunday (8). A woman using the pseudonym Jane Doe alleged that, in 2000, at the age of 13, she was taken to an event after the MTV Video Music Awards, where she was allegedly assaulted. Initially, the case only named Sean “Diddy” Combs as a defendant, but Jay-Z's name was recently added.

Rapper Diddy, who already faces racketeering and trafficking charges, is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and is awaiting trial on May 5, 2025. Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, denied the allegations via their lawyers, expecting them to be false and optimistic about their confirmation.

Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing the prosecution, decided to comment directly on Jay-Z's inclusion in the case, but criticized his handling of similar cases related to Diddy.
