Kate Middleton and William disagree about their son's education

Princess Kate Middleton is not happy with her husband Prince William's decision regarding the future of the couple's firstborn, 11-year-old George. According to the British newspaper Daily Mirror, the two are experiencing an impasse over which school the boy should attend after preparatory school. It is the royal family's tradition for children to be educated at home or sent to boarding school.

Kate prefers that her son be sent to a mixed school in England, along with her siblings, Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6). For the mother, it is important that her children grow up together, like her, who studied with her brothers Pippa and James in Marlborough, from 1996 to 2000.

William, on the other hand, has fond memories of Eton, the school where he and his brother, Prince Harry, studied. An exclusively male school, Eton has a long tradition of educating aristocrats and members of the royal family, factors that weigh in on the prince's decision about his son's student future.

Kate seeks change

The Princess of Wales, however, works to change her husband's decision. According to the English daily, Middleton thinks the school is very conservative, attended only by boys. Her wish is for George to study at a school for boys and girls, valuing coexistence with his siblings.

“She had a very happy student life, but William has great memories of Eton, a school with a long history of educating members of the aristocracy and royal family.”reports one of the sources of the British newspaper Daily Mirror.

Break with tradition

Another source from the same newspaper commented that Kate is “heartbroken” with the prince's decision, but still hopes to convince him to change his mind, causing the tradition to be modified. It is worth remembering that Princes William and Harry did not study at the same school as their father, Gordonstoun, in Scotland. With this, there is still hope that Princess Kate Middleton's wish will be granted.
