Ana Furtado opens up on “Mais Você” and talks about the process she went through against cancer
On the morning of this Wednesday (4), presenter Ana Furtado was one of the guests on the Mais Você program presented by Ana Maria Braga, who was the interviewee's next-door neighbor. During breakfast, which is customary on the program, Ana Furtado brought her new book “Until never again: How I accepted, resisted and overcame cancer” and recalled a delicate moment she went through during breast cancer treatment. There was also the presence of doctor Fernando Maluf commenting on the disease.

In the program
During the chat with Ana Maria Braga and Maluf, Boninho's wife, said for the first time that she wore wigs, after remembering the moment of her participation in the same program in 2018.
“I never revealed this. I'm revealing it on national television: I used prosthetics a lot during my treatment. And I was afraid to say that I was using prosthetics. At first, I was afraid to say that I had cancer, because we women We are in a very difficult place, we need to prove our value, our ability… always in double demand. So, suddenly I am considered a woman with cancer and my vanity is shaken like that… I don't think so. I knew what to say,” revealed Ana Furtado.
During the special program in honor of Pink October, Ana Maria took advantage of the moment of alert to list the most common symptoms presented by people suffering from gynecological cancer. They are: Abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation, weight loss, tiredness, vaginal bleeding or discharge, pain during sexual intercourse, hardened mass in the belly and wounds in the intimate area.
Institute
Ana is now cured and shared the moment she was taking her last treatment medication alongside her husband Boninho, 5 years after the discovery on her social networks.
The presenter is an ambassador and part of the board of the Protea institute, which offers complete treatment for low-income women with breast cancer. And she also commented that all the money raised from the sale of the book “Até Nunca Mais” will be donated to the institute that operates in São Paulo and Salvador.

Importance of going to the doctor
Doctor Fernando Maluf also spoke about the importance of early diagnosis and vaccination against HPV, giving the example of Ana Furtado and saying that she discovered the cancer after suspecting a lump in her breast, found during a self-examination carried out at home. The disease was confirmed after imaging and biopsy tests.
