Anitta rocks the VMA and wins award with Funk Rave

Singer Anitta continues to reach stratospheric numbers, which were difficult to imagine a few years ago with any Latin artist, especially Brazilian, which has guaranteed her several awards and international recognition, making her songs known all over the world.

This Tuesday (12), the Brazilian was present to sing and perform at the VMAs, one of the most prestigious events in the world when it comes to music. THE Video Music Awardsan event created by MTV, which distributes prizes for the best music videos in the world, also has enormous prestige for the world of music with the live performances of some singers invited to participate in the event.

Increase in views

Anitta gave everything she could in her performance, singing her song “Funk Rave”, which was participating in the event as best Latin music video and also sang her newest song “Used to be”. After her performance at the VMA, according to information released by Spotify and later confirmed by some news portals such as Digital Musical News, Anitta's performance guaranteed a 950% increase in views of her song “Funk Rave” on the streaming platform “Spotify”, worldwide. In the United States, the song had a 450% increase in views. Furthermore, its presentation also yielded “Used to be”, an increase of 105% in the United States alone.

It is worth noting that this calculation was made by taking the peak of views on the platform in the hours following the live presentation, while the event was taking place and after the event, compared to the same time in the previous week.

Another trophy

The night ended in a perfect way for the Rio native, who won in the “Latin music video” category with the song “Funk Rave”, dethroning great already established artists such as Shakira, Rosalía and Bad Bunny (who had two songs competing in the category). In 2022, Anitta had already been the first Brazilian to win a VMA award and now winning again, for the second year in a row.
