How important is it to have a passport?
A passport is essential for international travel. Without it, you will not be able to legally enter other countries. Another important detail about the importance of a passport is that the government issues it as an identification document. Abroad, it serves several purposes, such as proof of residency and national security.
Furthermore, if you receive an opportunity to work outside of Brazil, having a passport is essential to be able to accept this proposal, as it will be one of the documents that will make you eligible to live in another country legally.
Other uses of the passport:
- Consular Assistance: With a passport, Brazilians can request consular assistance from the network of Brazilian Embassies and Consulates in other countries.
- Freedom of travel: Brazilian tourists have the possibility of visiting more than 50 countries without any type of visa, if they plan to return within 90 days.
