Maverick” talks about the intense training for the film

In previously unreleased material released by Paramount, Tom Cruise and much of the cast commented a little on what training for this new “Top Gun” was like. “I wasn't ready to do a sequel until we had a special story that deserved a continuation and until the technology evolved so that we could delve deeper into the experience of being a fighter pilot.”said Tom Cruise.

He continued, talking about the training: “We worked with the Navy and the Top Gun school to formulate how to shoot it practically. Because if we're going to do this, we're going to fly in F-18s. The Navy says if you eject, you have to be able to survive in the water. So we had to have a challenging underwater program.”Cruise described.

Monica Barbaro and Greg Tarzan Davis also shared what the experience was like: “It's intense. You're upside down and trying to get out.”Greg said. “Tom designed this comprehensive aviation training for all actors. It still amazes me that we did it, there's nothing like it”declared Monica.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer also spoke about the film: “The first film became something that changed a generation, so it's exciting to go back and get in those jets again. The airplane sequences had to be real. So the actors spent three months of exhaustive training.” Check out the complete material below:

The latest report was yet another from Tom Cruise, revealing how proud he is of everything they have managed to accomplish. “I'm very proud of what we've all accomplished. Every single one of them is extraordinary.”Cruise declared.

“Top Gun: Maverick” follows pilot Pete Mitchell (Tom Cruise) after more than 30 years of service as one of the top aviators in the U.S. Navy. But now he's working as a test pilot who's tasked with training a group of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission that no pilot has ever completed alive. “Top Gun: Maverick” opens in theaters in Brazil on May 26.
