Michelle Yeoh, Winner of the Women In Motion Award at Cannes!

According to Deadline, the actress Michelle Yeoh will receive the prize Women In Motion node Cannes Film Festival 2023. The festival was initially known as the International Film Festival, which has aimed to share a unique showcase of exclusive films for critics, actors, filmmakers and industry experts since 2002.

The main prize of the event is the Palme d'Orwhich is awarded by a special, internationally recognized jury.

The festival takes place in France in the city in which it takes its name and was initially created to be a direct rival to the Venice festival. The winning features are chosen by a committee that chooses around 50 independent feature films and 10 short films for selection and final awards. Each feature and short are separated by categories, which include the main jury competition, and the selections from the Cinefundationin addition to the films competing in the category Un Certain Regard and films that are shown out of competition.

The film “Parasite” was the first Korean film to win every major award in the film industry (Palm d'Or, Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA).

The actress Michelle Yeoh entered the competition with his latest work “Everything Everywhere at the Same Time“. The story shows Evelyn Wang, a woman who got involved in a multidimensional adventure and ended up putting the fate of all universes in her hands — and also makes her question who she is to herself and her family. The feature “Everything Everywhere at the Same Time“ raised more than US$100 million worldwide, becoming a critical success and acting praise.
