Shot marks found in residence of shooter who killed father, brother and police officer

Edson Fernando Crippa, aged 45, was found dead this Wednesday morning (23), after taking his family hostage and killing his father, brother and a Military Police Officer in Nova Hamburgo, Porto Alegre. In images circulating on the internet, it is possible to see several marks of gunshots that were caused by the confrontation on the walls of Edson's own house and neighboring residences.

On Tuesday night (22), the police were called after receiving reports of mistreatment and that the shooter was keeping his relatives in private prison. Upon arriving at the scene, the authorities tried to negotiate with Edson, but the man started shooting at them and their family. “Unexpectedly and completely aggressively, he appears and starts shooting at all the people who were in that place, in front of the residence.”says the commander of the 3rd PM Battalion.

After the intense exchange of gunfire, the Military Brigade entered the residence and found Edson dead, in addition to finding two pistols and two shotguns. According to information from investigators, he was registered as a collector, sports shooter and hunter (CAC) and the weapons were legal. Sandro Caron, Secretary of Public Security, also stated that the 45-year-old man had a history of four hospitalizations for schizophrenia.

Victims of the attack

Among the dead are the shooter's 74-year-old father, Eugênio Crippa; his brother, Everton Crippa, 49 years old; and military police officer Everton Kirsch Júnior, 31, who had been with the force since 2018 and left behind his wife and a 45-day-old son. In addition to them, Edson's mother and sister-in-law, aged 70 and 41, respectively, were shot and are in serious condition.

Nine other people were also hit, including eight police officers and a municipal guard. According to g1, two of them are in surgery, one is awaiting surgery, one is stable and three have already been released from the hospital.
