– All in one GAME updates, New game release, 2024 games, upcoming games, trending games, latest discovery and game reviews.

The State of Play is that date you mark on your calendar in the hope of seeing that announcement that will change your life… only to leave with your wallet shaking with fear and the feeling that sand has been pulled in your eyes. And as if the eternal hype for a new “Bloodborne” (which never comes) wasn’t enough, Sony decided to attack our pockets with some surprises that range from the category of “Now that’s Next-Gen!” to the good old “remaster that nobody asked for”. Come on this tour to see the most interesting things that happened at this event!

Astro Bot: He's back and he's still running!

Astro Bot is back, this time with speedruns and special bots that you won't even have time to admire, because, well, everyone is running.

We start with an update of Astro Botthe mascot of Asobi Team, with new speedrun levels. Yes, because anyone who plays “Astro Bot” knows that the important thing is to run. Don’t worry, if you stumble, at least there are 10 new special bots to rescue along the way. Oh, and of course, a ranking system so you can prove to the world that you’re the Usain Bolt of cute robot games.

For fans of Astro Bot, this is a blessing, since the levels are well-designed and the difficulty level is one that makes you want to throw the controller at the wall. But, hey, it's part of the experience, right? Who doesn't like a challenge while trying to save some bots?

Ghost of Yōtei: Revenge has never looked so beautiful

THE Sucker Punch appeared with Ghost of Yōteithe spiritual continuation of Ghost of Tsushimabecause apparently Japan never gets old! This time, things got even darker, with a new protagonist, a new story and a new region. Think Ghost of Tsushima, but with a supernatural twist, like the movie The Call mixed with samurai – it’s scary just thinking about it. It arrives in 2025 and we’re already watching the trailers.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: A PS4 game running at 120 FPS? Yes, please!

Aloy will return to explore the same world, but this time more beautiful, with more details and, of course, with improved hair!

While everyone was waiting for a new DLC for Horizon Forbidden West, the folks at Sony decided that what you really wanted was to play Horizon Zero Dawn…again! Only now in a remastered version. The game, which was already breathtaking in its original version, will now be even more breathtaking, with optimized graphics, re-recorded conversations and that 3D Tempest audio, so you can hear the dinosaur robots coming from all sides.

It's one of those remasters that makes you think: did i need this?. Maybe not, but we're all here ready to dive into Aloy's post-apocalyptic world again, like there's no tomorrow. At least this time, we can enjoy it in 4K, with 120 FPS and adaptive triggers on the DualSense.

PlayStation 5 Pro: The new monster is coming!

PS5 Pro: more power to run what you already run… but prettier, just because.

Finally, Sony has officially announced the PlayStation 5 Proand if you thought the PS5 was already rocking with its mind-blowing graphics, prepare to have your head blown… or not. Basically, we’re talking about graphical improvements that take advantage of the new hardware. What does this mean for you, casual gamer? More FPS, more resolution, and of course, more money coming out of your account.

Khazan Hardcore RPG Arrives in 2025

Now, if you're on the team that plays on a CRT TV, this might not make much of a difference. But hey, if you've got an 8K OLED in your living room, it's time to show your neighbors who's boss.

LEGO Horizon Adventures: Because who doesn't love LEGO?

Combine robotic dinosaurs with LEGO bricks and the result is pure magic.

If you thought Horizon and LEGO had nothing to do with each other, think again. LEGO Horizon Adventures arrives in November, bringing Aloy back, this time in buildable blocks, and ready for you to destroy (and build again). Yes, it sounds crazy, but that's what we're here for. After all, there's nothing more satisfying than seeing a LEGO dinosaur dismantle into a thousand little pieces.

PlayStation Plus: Classic Games Everyone Loves… and Doki Doki

And of course, we couldn't miss that basic update of PlayStation Plus. Beyond the expected Dead Space and WWE 2K24because who doesn't love a brawl in space followed by a brawl in the ring? Oh, and to break up the routine of horror and muscles, we have Doki Doki Literature Club Plus. Because after ripping heads off in Dead Space, there's nothing better than relaxing with a “romance” visual novel (or not, if you've played it, you know what I'm talking about).

But the real gift here is the return of Dino Crisis and Legacy of Kain to the classics list. Sony doesn't mess around when it comes to playing with people's nostalgia.

Concord: Sony's New Stopgap

Soul Reaver Remastered: Yes, it's happening!

The soul eater is back! And this time, in glorious 4K.

To top it off, Aspyr announced that the long-awaited Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and its sequel are getting the VIP treatment with remastered versions. If you were a fan of Raziel (that stylish vampire who devours souls), get ready to see this PS1-era classic with modern graphics and nostalgia intact. It's coming in December, so make a note of it.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Hunting monsters in style

Capcom is back with another title in the Monster Hunter series, and now it's time to face new challenges, like giant monsters that seem to have come out of a collective nightmare.

If you are a fan of the series Monster Hunterget ready for the Monster Hunter Wildswhich arrives in early 2025. And yes, the boss monster of this new game already has a name: White Spectrum. Think of something scary and multiply it by 10. The trailer showed a little of what's to come, with vast environments, even more bizarre creatures, and the promise of epic hunts. The question that remains is: will we be able to defeat these creatures this time without having to call our friends? Probably not.

Conclusion

THE September 2024 State of Play was a mix of pleasant surprises, remasters that no one expected (but might want), and new games that promise to empty your wallet in style. Whether you're a fan of ghostly samurai, robotic LEGO dinosaurs, or just a monster hunter looking for your next prey, Sony brought something for everyone.
