Bro, remember that the second season of XDefiant arrived with full force and Ubisoft decided to get its foot in the door, bringing Robbersa faction that looks like it came straight out of the post-apocalyptic hell of Far Cry: New Dawn. The guys arrived in style, bringing a new dynamic to the game with their improvised weapons, explosive abilities and that chaos that only a post-apocalyptic gang can bring. Furthermore, we still have new mapsone new Bomb mode (in the best style Search and Destroy), and private matches for you to mess around with your friends.
Who are the Robbers?
If you are not connected, the Robbers come directly from Far Cry New Dawnand the guys didn't come to make friends. They are hardcore survivors of the 2035 apocalypse, and their goal is to cause the most damage possible in the shortest amount of time. With insane skills like Saw Launcherwhich ricochets murderous blades off walls (a huge danger in tight corridors), and the Scrap Turretwhich provides 360-degree coverage while grinding enemies, this faction promises to turn any match into a minefield of death and destruction.
And there's still the M79 Launcherwhich basically blows up anything in its path. Want to take down enemies or destroy their abilities? There's the perfect tool, you just won't waste your two shots on nonsense, because the cooldown is long, bro.
Bomb Mode: the new bullshit has arrived!
After months of requests, the mode Pump has finally arrived! If you like that tense style of Search and Destroy of Call of Duty or CSyou will feel at home. The scheme is simple: one team plants the bomb, the other tries to defuse it, and no one respawns until the end of the round. This means that every decision counts, and camping will have to be done in style, because once you go, it's gone.
Three new maps to explore
And there couldn't be a new map, right? THE Season 2 I brought three of them, but so far only the Waterfront was released. It's a huge map, with a very varied footprint, ranging from a skate park to a music stage. Perfect for those who enjoy switching between long and medium range combat, but it can also be a treat for those who know how to use grenades strategically.
The other two maps, Signal and Air & Spacewill still arrive throughout the season, and from what has been announced, they will bring new ways of fighting battles, with open spaces and opportunities for sinister ambushes.
New weapons to get into trouble
The second season also didn't mess around when it came to bringing new weapons. Now you can unlock the PP19 SMGa submachine gun that, unlike the others, focuses on accuracy and damage, and not so much on movement speed. For those who like headshots, this is the choice, as the head damage multiplier is absurd.
There is also the L86 LSWwhich is halfway between a light machine gun and an assault rifle. The difference is that it allows you to run and shoot faster than traditional heavy machine guns, so if you are one of those who enjoy flanking, it could be a great choice.
Lastly, the infamous SPAS-12a semi-automatic shotgun that promises to bring pain and suffering in hand-to-hand combat. If the first shot doesn't kill, the second will definitely guarantee the kill.
Private matches: you can finally make fun of your friends!
Ubisoft answered people's requests and now the second season has brought the private matches. Do you feel like having fun with the crowd, putting together custom teams and choosing any map? Now it does. And the best part: you can even create 1v1 or 2v2 matches to resolve that dispute once and for all. Private mode is still on betabut it already promises to be a crowd favorite.
And what else?
In addition to all this, the second season also brought a Premium Battle Pass with 90 tiers packed with content. It has a bit of everything: legendary skins, XP boosts, new weapon and character customizations, and, of course, that bunch of in-game currency that everyone loves to collect to spend in the game's stores.
XDefiant franchise summary: Ubisoft mixing its universes
For those who are still out of touch with what the XDefiantcheck it out: it's a free shooter from Ubisoft that mixes factions from several of the company's famous franchises, such as Far Cry, Splinter Cell, The Divisionand more. The game has a frenetic, arcade-style combat feel, with various skills and strategies that each faction brings to the table.
The idea is simple: choose a faction that best suits your playing style, pick up the weapons and skills that best fit your strategy and go shooting. And with the second season, Ubisoft promises that the game will only grow more, bringing new content and always giving it a refresh to keep the public hooked.
