Joe Exotic from Tiger King files for divorce
Joe Exotic, who became known through the reality series Tiger King on Netflix, has sent divorce papers to his husband Dillon Passage. He had already announced last year that the couple had broken up, but according to Exotic, Passage never worked on a divorce.
The two met in the fall of 2017 and married two months later. A year ago, Passage (25) announced that Exotic (59) and he were no longer together.
Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, must serve a years-long prison sentence for animal cruelty and plotting the murder of his rival Carole Baskin.
For Passage, this situation would be “not fair” for both of them and therefore they would be better off separating.
Exotic tweeted a photo of a letter from his lawyer on Thursday, saying that attempts to contact Passage have failed.

According to the counsel, Exotic has done his best to trace his ex-partner so that the two can handle the divorce amicably. “It is the hope of the Tiger King that they can both pick up their lives again and divorce quickly and amiably.”
The text that Exotic put with the photo sounded less friendly: “Dillon, just draw this and disappear”, he told his ex.
Joe Exotic was initially sentenced to 22 years in prison. At the beginning of 2022, he received a one-year sentence reduction.
His case was reassessed because a federal court had previously made a mistake.
