Police were prepared to arrest Will Smith
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were prepared to remove Will Smith from the room and arrest him during the Oscar ceremony on Sunday.
The producer of the award ceremony, Will Packer, tells that Thursday to American media. It is the first time since the blow that comedian Chris Rock received that Packer publicly responds to the incident.
The producer says that officers talked to Rock after the blow. If the comedian reported it, police promised to arrest Will Smith immediately.
They said, according to Packer, “This is violence, we can arrest him now.” The comedian didn’t want to know about that and responded by saying “he’s okay”. Rock also declined to press charges.
Packer, who was hired by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to produce the Oscar ceremony, says in the interview with Good Morning America that he did not speak to Smith again Sunday night.

The Academy announced Wednesday that the organization has started a disciplinary procedure in response to the incident.
The American actor risks being suspended or expelled as a member.
