Internacional beats GreNal and imposes the rival's sixth consecutive defeat on the Brazilian

GreNal number 442 was a separate chapter in the history of this classic as it was the first to be played in another Brazilian state. In opposing situations, the three points were of utmost importance for both. For Inter, the victory was important to confirm the good moment and remove any suspicion regarding Eduardo Coudet; For Imortal, it was decisive, given that the team led by Renato Gaúcho is in the relegation zone and now has six consecutive defeats in the competition.

First half of low offense

Needing a victory to try to get out of the last positions in the table, Grêmio started attacking their rival, until the 25th minute of the game, Tricolor Gaúcho had more of the ball in the offensive field, but did little to threaten the goal defended by Fabrício. Inter gradually loosened up and took risks from outside the area.

Tricolor responded to a dangerous header from captain Geromel, putting the Colorada goal in great danger. The game ended with Internacional's victory in another GreNal.

GreNal outside Porto Alegre

The classic was the first played in Brazil outside of Rio Grande do Sul and the 13th outside of Porto Alegre. On other occasions the classic was played five times in Caxias do Sul, four times in Erechim, once in Rio Grande, Santa Cruz do Sul, Bento Gonçalves and in 2011, GreNal was played in Uruguayan lands, in Rivera, in a friendly match won by the Immortal.
