Corinthians is involved in FIFA due to Rodrigo Garro; understand

The transfer of Rodrigo Garro continues to be a subject much discussed behind the scenes of Corinthians. According to 'ESPN', FIFA took action against Timão due to an alleged debt with the Talleres, the Argentine midfielder's former club. According to them, there is still around R$3.7 million left to be received.

The dispute is based on the amount stipulated in the contract for operating expenses. Initially, Corinthians disbursed 3.8 million dollars, around R$19.9 million at current prices. However, Talleres accepted this proposal, but with the payment of so-called operating expenses, worth 1.8 million dollars.

However, there was a disagreement at the time of payment, when, with the Argentine tax rebate, Talleres' salaries were reduced to 700 thousand dollars, the same amount that the Córdoba club requests to receive in the action filed by FIFA. Corinthians, in turn, claims that it has paid the gross amounts and denies any pending issues.

This divergence was what led to the club's difficulty in regularizing the player in Brazilian football at the beginning of the season. Corinthians, in that situation, only managed to release the necessary documentation to count on the athlete after also appealing to FIFA.
