Tesla CEO Elon Musk wants to undo the banishment of Donald Trump from Twitter. Musk, who takes over the social media company, calls the measure against the former AMERICAN president a mistake.
“I think it was a bad decision morally,” Musk said Tuesday in a virtual speech at an event about the future of the car. Tesla’s boss said trust in the social media company will be undermined if people are permanently banned from Twitter.
Trump was banned from Twitter after he was accused of sedition after the storming of the Capitol in Washington on January 6 last year. Facebook imposed a ban on him until at least 2023. Trump tried in vain to get his Twitter account back through a judge.
The former president started his own social network last February: Truth Social. At the end of April, he announced that he would not return to Twitter, even if he gets his account back as a result of the acquisition by Musk.
The CEO of Tesla bought Twitter in April for about 44 billion dollars (about 41.7 billion euros). The acquisition has yet to be approved.
