Top Outlook Shortcuts

Outlook has two different versions for Windows, “New Outlook” and “Classic Outlook”, and each has specific keyboard shortcuts. To identify which version of Outlook you are using, check if the “File” tab is visible on the ribbon. If it is not visible, you are using New Outlook. If it is, you are using Classic Outlook.

Additionally, there are browser-based versions of Outlook available: Outlook.com (outlook.live.com) and Outlook on the web (outlook.office.com or outlook.office365.com). Both have the same shortcut keys.

In the browser versions, you can choose which keyboard shortcuts you want to use: Outlook.com, Yahoo Mail, Gmail, or Outlook. You can also disable keyboard shortcuts. To do this, select “Settings⚙️” > “General⚙️” > Accessibility. Under Keyboard shortcuts, select the desired option.

Create a new message or calendar event:

Open the selected message in a new window:

Forward message:

Go to calendar:
