Vasco takes legal action against Flamengo to play in Maracanã
The action against Flamengo was carried out due to the absence of previous responses to the request made by Vasco to the current administrators, who constitute the Flamengo and Fluminense duo. Since March 23, the club has been waiting for a response from rivals, but so far there has only been data that the request was under review.
The club is fighting for a guardianship request so as not to harm the sale of tickets, to the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro, where the action is being made. Among other justifications, the club emphasizes the enormous crowding of its fans on game days and also highlights the administrative rules, which affirm Flamengo’s obligation to allow other clubs in the state of Rio de Janeiro to play in Maracanã because it is a stadium public. In addition, in case of denial of the request for justifications of harming the lawn, Vasco points out that games were played on consecutive days in the semifinals of the Carioca Championship and therefore there would be no problems with the request.

Vasco da Gama has the desire to temporarily manage the Maracanã stadium, in this way it issued a statement to the government on eight points in which it would qualify for its administration, among them, it states that it will be able to contribute with better financial conditions than the current managers who pay about $260 thousand reais.
